Nigel Bunker
Just one picture for the moment - I'll add others later. Boeing P-8A converted from Airfix E-3 AWACS kit, 1/72 scale. It took about 18 months but largely due to the fact the build stalled for over 6 months. It's due for a repaint once the RAF starts receiving their ones and hopefully somebody dos some RAF decals for it. Pound coin to give scale.

vh-bob
Great work Nigel. It's good to see you were not put off by the apparent lack of a kit and went ahead and built one. We are due to see them here in Adelaide soon as the RAAF have started the gruesome task of scrapping the P-3Cs of 10 and 11 Squadrons

tomprobert
You'd have saved yourself a lot of work by building the Welsh Models kit... ...the result is pretty amazing considering it started out as a Boeing 707 though!
Nigel Bunker
You'd have saved yourself a lot of work by building the Welsh Models kit... When I made the P-8, I was out of work - the Welsh Models kit was more than the cost of a weeks groceries for my family whereas the E-3 was in the loft. No contest. Romeo Alpha Yankee
Looks great Nigel Amazing what you can do by chopping up a related kit! Where did you source the decals for it?
Plumbum
Wow, looks like this one that overflew my house last week. Great job, just wished the mainstraeam would do it in 1/144.---John IMG_6672 by jvandeu53, on Flickr
Tzulscha
That's very cool, you can almost smell the jet fuel. I did time on P-3s way back when. Ah nostalgia! Thanks for the pics!
Nigel Bunker
Where did you source the decals for it? Decals are a mixture - some from the E-3, some homemade (numbers, NAVY titling) and the rest from my plastic cake box that is full of spare kit decals from unused options over the years.
71chally
Superb work, and inspired basing it on the existing 707/E-3 kit!
