Bjorn
I wanted to build something easy during my summer vacation. And this one just took a few days to complete. A pretty basic, simplified kit with great fit. The main problem is the cockpit area, in front of the instrument panel and behind the seat, there are no details at all: So I had to scratchbuild it all. The kit seat was replaced with a Pavla seat. Kit decals were partly replaced, the red stars had no outline at all! I painted it with Vallejo's new metal acrylics, mostly White Aluminium and Dark Aluminium. References was hard to find, and this one is not entirely perfect - I had to use a little artistic freedom in a few places - and so did Trumpeter, I think... And for those of you that thinks that the Su-9 is about the same size as the similar-looking cousin MiG-21 (I did!): It is not! Thanks for watching.
