Radleigh
So my Saturday consisted of this... I'll let the photos do the talking. and some others from the day. (My dad in the back - low pass) Brother doing a low pass.. and some people I don't know.. Doing air-to-air was hard, but fairly happy for a first time... Hope it's of interest, Thanks for looking!

The Cameraman
Hi Radleigh, I've been lucky enough to have some YAK airtime and they're a magnificent beast of an aircraft. Shame the weather wasn't as good as when you took to the air. Edited August 9, 2016 by The Cameraman

Paul J
Marvellous! Where did you fly from. The aerial view of the airfield sort of reminds me of Popham in Hants.
Airgunner
That is most definitely Popham, I live 4 miles up the road and drive past most days. Does Joe Pasquale still keep his Yak there?

Learstang
Excellent photographs, Radleigh! However, don't they know that GPW aircraft with the black/green camouflage wouldn't have had that much yellow? I think I'll hire myself out as their camouflage expert - that way I can be paid in free rides! Regards, Jason
Tiger331
Popham……Yep, recognized it instantly. I simply cannot remember how many times I have passed that airfield on the way up/down that part of the country but finally managed to actually visit it last year during a combined Aerojumble/Classic Car event. Weather was excellent and there were some decent exhibits on show, some of which took to the air during the day including one or two Yaks. Great photos by the way. Miggers
You could put one of those down with the undercart retracted and not have too much of a repair bill !!!!.
nuuumannn
Very nice Radleigh and well shot all round. The Yak does have a certain ugly charm to it and you've captured it wonderfully. Excellent day, I suspect...
Mick4350
We had a similar aircraft come to a fly in at our local airport a few years ago. It had soviet stars on the fuselage, Nazi and Imperial Japanese kill markings under the cockpit and D-Day Stripes on the wings and body and were selling joy flights with their Warbird.
AndyC
Is the big AN-2 still parked there? Hungarian registered I think? Good pics Radleigh!
