Thanks hockeyboy, I think the only thing I could recommend is, to make sure the plaster is completely dry as otherwise it pulls off and cracks!

I'm slowly getting there but I need to get my finger out to get this one finished! :waiting:

Had abit of an accident in that I forgot to seal the decals and I masked over the main roundel on port side. The decal decided to leave with the tape

Having no spare roundels I proceeded to mask my own.

And managed to rip of the yellow patch thing...

(Btw what is that for? )

I think it turned out ok for a first attempt the reds not quite round which is bugging me but eh...

All that is left to do is a gloss coat for the weathering and panel lining, followed by the adding of the spinner and landing gear. I have two pilots to paint then fingers crossed done. :yahoo:

As always any comments welcome

Nice save with the roundel Joss :goodjob:

To answer your question, I believe that the 'yellow patch thing' is to detect the presence of poison gas (I think it changes colour?).  Others will be more expert than me though!

Cliff

I am an expert on all things Spitfire, so yes, the 'Yellow Patch' thing is indeed reactive paint which turns black when exposed to a gas attack. Thanks to Google for the info. I'm not really an expert at all. :D

Nice job on the Spit btw.

Thanks guys, and that bit of information is good to know!

I am making progress I have one of the pilots left to paint and just adding the odds and ends to the spit.

So fingers crossed as long as real life doesn't get in the way i should be done by the deadline!

I'll post a few pics once I've taken them!
