Is there a 1:32 beaufighter VI conversion coming out

This one caught my eye too, but I suspect not. The Revell Beau has been around awhile and there has not been much produced so far. I think Techmod are making use of a sheet they already have and letting us get on with it.

The main issue is the different tail, not too difficult to scratch. It is a nice, reasonably accurate kit but is a 70s moulding and lacks the detail we have come to expect at 1/32. However:

  • Vector produce a nice Hercules engine and Quickboost hedgehog exhausts. A new collector ring and cooling gills would be great.
  • Maybe we can persuade David Parkins to do a short run of his etched Beau details at 1/32, that would sort the cockpits out.
  • All we need then is a decent set of wheels and undercarriage legs.

Simples!

At this point new Tamiya 1/32 wonder kit enters stage left and all that hard work was for nothing. But maybe Techmod know something we don't?

There is/was an ongoing project to produce a complete replacement interior for the fusalage of the Beau , but nothing has been seen or heard on that in years .. pity ..

I'd pay some serious money for a Tamiya quality 1/32 TFX Beau...!
