Never done sci fi but saw the 1/112 x win from revell... Very small part count but as a foray it looks like it will be fun

Yesterday got a delivery from Alain Rivard in Canada with a 3D print kit of SID from UFO!

DSC_9471.JPG?m=1730279614

The main body on the right is 14cm long, a dry fit of the main components shows this will be about 30cm long when assembled. Lots of small pieces packaged up into small boxes...

Can't wait to start it!!!

He'll go nicely with the Evangelion/Godzilla mashup one I already have.

I picked up a couple older kits at the LHS. They were all a great price as they're having a sale on Bandai kits.

They arent too bad those small kits.  I got a few of them when there was a deal on at Hobbycraft

Revell R03600 Star Wars -Millennium Falcon Film - Science Fiction-1:241

Revell R03601 Star Wars - X-Wing Fighter Film - Science Fiction-1:112

Revell R03602 Star Wars - Darth Vader's Tie Fighter Film - Science Fiction-1:121

Revell R03604 Star Wars - Snowspeeder Film - Science Fiction-1:52

Revell R03605 Star Wars - Tie Fighter Film - Science Fiction-1:110

Revell R03609 Star Wars - Imperial Star Destroyer Film - Science Fiction-1:12300

They didnt have the other tie fighter (03603) in stock at either HC in Leeds.  Maybe I will pick it up at some point to complete the set.

The only kit I purchased at Telford this year, from Cozmic Scale Models:

LbeTCOi.jpg

I say 'kit', though it's a one piece 3D print with decal options for three versions, and powered up or down. It is hollow, so I'm pondering the possibility of cutting out the back door and scratchbuilding an interior

My main purchase from Telford this weekend... a bit of a bargain I reckon (if you zoom in you can see the price tag on the top right of the box :D )

Wife spoilt me rotten at Telford, buying models for xmas, i ended up with a few kits ticked off my wish list;

1/128 8 window movie edition Seaview (Voyage to the bottom of the sea) from Moebius

1/6 B-9 robot (Lost in space) from Moebius

1/72 Atreides Ornithopter (Dune) by Meng

1/32 Vermithrax the dragon (Dragonslayer) by Pegasus

and 5 submarine kits not sci-fi or fantasy.

All the best Chris

An online shop here in Canada was having a sale and I found they had a UNCF Asuka for a silly price $49 CAD (which is like maybe $30 USD?).  I couldn't resist as they seem to be hard to find as well.

PXL_20241122_180917521-L.jpg

They also had the recent Bandai VF-29 on sale so I got that too.

Meantime, it hasn't arrived yet (postal strike at the moment) but a different shop had the Gamilas 3 ship set on sale so I picked that up from them. This will be for our son as he was asking for one so it was nicely fortuitous.

Whilst not models, I've recently received two Blakes 7 books, the Production Diaries for Series A & B which contain a number of very useful model shots of the Liberator and many of the the other ships including Matt Irvine's infamous hairdryer ship.  They are well worth it just for the model shots but give a fascinating insight in to the production of the series.

Here they are with the recently released Series 1 BluRay and my studio scale Liberator kit.

This came in last week. A Robocop-Kit from GoodSmile´s Moderoid line. This should be in scale with their other Kits from the Robocop movies, like the Cain and the ED-209.

....and this arrived just a few hour ago: A 1/87 Scale Type 66 Maser Cannon. Aunt Google says that this is from the goofy 1966 movie "The War of the Gargantuas" but i am pretty sure that i have seen very similar looking vehicles in several different Godzilla movies. Probably recycled props used in several Kaiju movies of that era.

I found this in a japanese Web-Store for second hand model kits. Comes  with an unexpected high amount of decals + 3 metal rods to be used as axis for the tyres.

The one kit my wife vetoed. I had the original release in the stash and when she realized how big it was going to be, said no. So I sold it and bought a PG Millenium Falcon instead. That was okay by her.

You know, I really wonder why more sci-fi ship kits don't come in standard ship scales like 1/700 or 1/350.

If you compare the dimensions of Enterprise to the Enterprise CVN, the starship doesn't come off as improbably large, so it's not impossible to kit them in the same scale.

My Black Friday order finally arrived from a nearby online Gundam shop.

I was a bit surprised at the size of a couple of the boxes. One of these being this MaK kit.

PXL_20241216_175533716-L.jpg

The AT-AT was more along what I expected.

PXL_20241216_175545979-L.jpg

Same with the Gamilas ships.

PXL_20241216_175600083-L.jpg

Then this just took the cake.
