MikeGTC
Here we go again with an Italia! Hope this one goes better then the last 458. The box: Instructions: Parts: Going for some Novitec Rosso wheels by HobbyDesign. That kit does not come with tyres... Bought and 'ugly' Aoshime wheel set and used those tyres. Much Cheaper then buying tyres from HobbyDesign. Quick setup: And started with gettingthe parts ready for primer and markingthe mould lines. Going to paint this one Tour de France Blue by Zero Paints. This build wont go fast, working on it in the evenings when I get home from working in my appartment. Thanks for watching! Flipper
Looking good mate, I really wanted to go down the aftermarket wheel route with my 458 build, but the nephew didn't want them. Did you see how I lowered mine. My build has stalled at the moment, due to my recent stay in hospital, but hopefully I'll get back to it soon. roymattblack
This kit is a little beaut. I built mine 100% OOB for a magazine review and It was a really fun build. I'll be watching to see your beastie emerge. Roy.

MikeGTC
Thanks all! Did some more work on the kit. For the wheels I used this C1 models metalizer powder: First I painted the inside of the wheels black and gave that a gloss clearcoat. If i do this again I'm going to paint it white, Think it is a dit to dark. Then you have to take some of this powder and rub it on the wheels. Then it looks like this: And this is a completed wheel: The body parts are now ready for the clearcoat: Thanks for watching! Flipper
Looking good Mike. Quick question, what did you do with the black mesh area where the rear lights are. I'm still swithering what to do there. Also how did the decals take to the Basecoat. Edit. One last question, when it comes to the Windows, do you kleer them, and if so is this before or after you paint in the black edges. Cheers Edited July 25, 2016 by Flipper
MikeGTC
Thanks m8! I just placed the mesh decal. The colour is dark enough. But next time i would paint the area black first and then place the decal. On a light colour you will see it to much trough the decal. I never clear coated the windows. I just make masks for the windows and then paint the edges. And clean them and glue them in. Also finnished the interior today: Mike Edited July 25, 2016 by MikeGTC

Flipper
Nice interior Mike, another question for you regarding the windows as you'll probably agree the instructions are somewhat vague. With regards the side windows do they go in from the inside or the outside. Cheers Edited July 30, 2016 by Flipper
MikeGTC
Thanks m8! Today I had time to clearcoat the 458: Inside: Going to let this dry for a few days now. The windows go in from the outside, but I'm making mine with the windows down. Like i did on my closed top California. Thanks for watching! Flipper
Damn that's shiney, very nice Mike. I'll maybe do the same with the side windows, as I just don't like they way they sit, when they are place on the outside. Is that a Merc SLS in the back ground Edited July 31, 2016 by Flipper

MikeGTC
Did some more work on the 458, hope to have it completed later today Added BMF behind the rear lights. You can also use silver paint but I like this more. Used paint for the brake light. Made the sides of all the clear parts black. The engine cover glass. And since I lowerd the car I had to remove the wheel mounting points. Had to make some spacer or the wheels would sit to deep in the car. Time to glue it all together now! Thanks for watching!
