espeefan
Doing Johnny Plagis' spitfire from the Sword dual Malta Spitfire/Reggiani kit. My guess would be after painting over the delivered camo scheme, they would not restore the stencils, but the undersides, if not painted, would retain them. What say all of you? dreadeddrew
Not a clue I'm afraid, but I'll keep an eye on this thread in case someone else comes up with the answer as I'm curious too. Andrew
Greenshirt
Most photos of the Malta Spitfires are not clear enough to tell if stencils are visible. Your logic is reasonable, so unless someone can provide some new photo with clear stencil data showing on the upper surfaces of the "blue" Spitfires in Malta, you are likely ok to follow your logic. Of course, as soon as you put the model on the competition table someone will lay that photo right next to it showing you marked it all wrong... tonyot
I would say that you are correct and this is the thinking that I use for my Malta models,........ stencilling on surfaces which have not been repainted and no stencils on repainted areas.
