Rick Brown
Chaps. Not sure if this has been brought up before, sorry if it has. Which kit would you go for? I'm not to fussed about the size taken up for display. Which is the nicer kit to build? They appear about the same price. I'm looking more at the Tamiya, but the Airfix kit looks amazing when built. JimHead23
Both are excellent kits but the Tamiya is probably the nicest model kit I have ever seen up close. Purely a matter of taste I'm sure. Regards Jim
gingerbob
Well, I suppose if you can't answer a question as simple (?) as that, the obvious answer is both!
epozar
There is also Mosquito 1/32 by HK
Rick Brown
I'm leaning towards the Tamiya, as it's a know manufacture for me. I think the Airfix kit could be a little more challenging too. As for the HK, I don't really know the brand very well. When you are looking to spend £120+ for a kit you don't want to take too many risks! Rick. andrewfl290
I have both the Tamiya (not started) and Airfix (started but not finished) kits and my only comment is how much more finesse the Tamiya kit has. I am building a 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire that just goes together so well. So do what has already been suggested and buy one of each, you won't regret it.
Mike
I'd agree with all that. Tamiya for sheer fit and finish out of the box, Airfix for imposing finished model. You'll need aftermarket to get the same level of detail with the Airfix kit though
FG2Si
I've built the HK Mossie and have the Tamiya one about 60% complete before burning out (I shouldn't have tried building both at the same time). My vote would be for the Tamiya kit. Also, check out LSP for a fantastic build currently going on there of the Tamiya kit by Wolf Buddee. It's truly stunning. markjames68
Depends wether you want to do a bit of modelmaking or a bit of kit assembling and painting, with proper modelmaking, imho the Airfix one wins hands down, the Tamiya kit is great for assembling and painting with minimal effort and is a great mojo restorer outof the box
Rick Brown
I better start saving for the Tamiya then! Thanks guys. Rick.
skyradial51
i have 2 Airfix Mossies, yet to build as I got both for very good prices compared to Tamiya.
tango98
Rick, unles cost is an issue (and it is pretty pricey) IMHO, I'd suggest the Tamiya kit as first choice closely followed by the Airfix. HTH Dave
Greenshirt
As my SO likes to remind me, "Go BIG or go home." As both are great kits... I'm strictly a 72nd scale modeler, however if I were to shift to any other scale it would be 24th.
