Best 1/350 Submarine sailors?

Recommended Posts

Jim Baumann used the L'Arsenal Resin figures here:

Personally, in 1/350, I don't like the PE figures as they look too flat unless you bulk them up with glue before painting.

I bought some WW2 german kriegsmarine sailor figures in 1:350 some time ago. At least they are real looking figures and not flat photo etch pieces.

I have them in my stash, and haven't fiddled with them yet (I have a Graf Spee kit for them).

Hm, I bought mine from

http://northstarmodels.com/product-category/figures/1-350/

The figures I bought sort of looks like this (from their website)

Fujimi makes a couple of figure sets in 1/350:

I have them myself and they are not flat, like the ones Tamiya brought out some years ago, but are full figures.

They are japanese, but in this scale I reckon you can paint them as from anywhere!

I bought mine from Hobby Link Japan.

Cheers :bye:

I should of said North Star produce figures for a number of navies.

Be mindful that what you are looking at, in that link, is probably a 3D rendering, and not real photo of the figures. Which is why I used the image I used above, which is showing the real figures. :)

I've seen a number of the sets of the actual figures (I've seen them in the flesh) they are amazing, I placed the link in my original post to help Woodstock find Starling Models.

I agree with the comments above that PE figures are too two-dimensional. I used PE naval figures in the scene below, and even though I coated the figures liberally with PVA glue in an attempt to pad them out a bit, from the side they still look like a cunning Admiralty ploy to use cardboard cut-out crew to make the Navy look bigger than it actually is.

Do you have an url for the Arsenal products that you can share?

Sorry for the delay , I 'm back at home since yesterday evening :bye: .

This is the link for the new shop of Arsenal (usually called Arsenal 2.0): http://www.larsenal.com/

You can find the sailors with filters diorama and 1/350 scale ;)
