markjames68
I always considered myself quite knowledgeable but happy to come across new stuff, discovered today for the first time the Heinkel 119, what an absolutely awesome looking aircraft, looks like the lovechild of an He 111 and a Bugatti 100, Lovely lovely looking aircraft IMHO and the float version is incredible.... mr Heinkel certainly had an aesthetic flair, not dissimilar to Mitchel.. bzn20
I saw a kit of this for sale a couple of days ago on ebay. Never seen or at least don't remember seeing it. Great lines. If you search He-119 on ebay there is aJapanesewif http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEINKEL-He-119-V4-1-72-VALOM-72100-/162119663606?hash=item25bf15bff6:g:r8UAAOSwxp9W-rEJ

72modeler
Ask and ye shall receive- on Britmodeller, no less! See the attached link. I have the kit and it is very nice- just wish there were some good reference photos or diagrams for the cockpit...not sure I would feel really comfortable with that prop shaft thrashing away next to me, though! Hopefully Valom will see fit to release the float version! MDriskill
I agree on the Heinkel, a lovely and unusual bird. Piloting it whilst looking through all that angled glass and framing, with the prop shaft thrashing about right next to your head, must have been "interesting" though! I have a thing for the blended canopy look though. My personal favorite twin of WW2, aesthetically speaking, is the Mitsubishi Ki-46-III "Dinah" which used the same idea in perhaps a more practical way. Ed Russell
just wish there were some good reference photos There are pics on the net like this..... or just make a confused mass of angles and girders..... with a mighty prop shaft down the middle Planet resin kit in 1/72 (built by one of the CMK guys, I think)
Graeme H
Yes it might look pretty, but I would not like to fly in one, with that propshaft right beside me, and the engine right behind me, and it had better have a quick release hatch on the top, a forced landing would not be for the faint of heart. The test pilots probably had their families being held by the SS

VMA131Marine
Planet models also did a resin kit of the He 119 in 1/72; a land plane version same as the Valom kit, and the floatplane: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/113083-planet-models-plt218-heinkel-he-119v-5-float-version Edited July 2, 2016 by VMA131Marine
Housesparrow
In 'Indiana Jones, Raiders of the lost Ark, there is nazi propeller plane in it, does anyone know if that plane existed for real? Ah, with the help of this guy below, I found the kit here: (Super expensive, and it looks like super expensive shipping, yikes) https://starshipmodeler.biz/shop/index.cfm/product/1151_123/bv-38-flying-wing.html
Levin
I think the movie model was based on some blohm & voss design but it was never build during ww2. EDIT: I am completely wrong quoting the Indiana jones wiki it was based on some alexander lippisch design aswell as some by Northrop although it was called Blohm & Voss bv 38 Edited July 2, 2016 by Levin
