goose
Are there any reasonable priced Israeli F 15 & 16 in 72 scale?
Hook
Depending on what version you want. For an F-16A/B/C/D, there are the RoG and Hasegawa kits, as well as some conversion kits (Airwaves F-16D spine, for example). For the F-16I, there is a Hasegawa boxing as well, as well as a Kinetic kit. For the F-15, Hasegawa offers both fighter versions and a specific F-15I boxing. 4scourge7
Hi Goose If you happened across the old Esci F-15 and F-16 kits in 72nd they came with Israeli decals. I`ve seen them at shows, but they are increasingly rare. IIRC the F-15 came with `fake` squadron badges that were applied to F-15 by the Israelis as disinformation. I think the F-16 came with Israeli decals but no squadron badges as they were still being censored at the time. Alternatively, there is the range of kits mentioned by Andre which are much easier to source than the out of production Esci kits, but some will need decals from the spares box or aftermarket. Personally, I have found Skys Israeli F-15 decals has the edge over Isradecal, but that`s just my opinion. 4scourge7
Not having much joy F15 wise the only F16 is about £30 bit rich for me If that`s £30 for an Esci F-16 then that`s way too much, but the seller may well get that. For thirty quid, might as well buy a newer kit and a set of decals. The price range I was thinking, as observed at recent shows, was 8-12 quid. I notice that there are Esci F-15 going for 12-15 quid on the net (not the Israeli version unfortunately). I agree that £30 is over the top. 4scourge7
I don`t do E-bay, so I don`t know the ins and outs, but this guy seems to be selling an Esci Israeli F-15 for £7.05. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Esci-1-72-MDD-F-15A-C-Eagle-Vintage-Plastic-Model-Kit-/111835180578#viTabs_0

goose
I have a airfix F15 E could I use that if so what about markings?
Giorgio N
Both Isradecals and Sky's made decals for the F-15 in Israeli service. The Sky's sheet is easily available, the Isradecals one may be harder to find. In any case we're talking expensive decal sheets here. An alternative would be searching for the old Micro/Superscale sheet 72-483 that included markings for 5 Israeli aircrafts. It's been OOP for years though Edited June 17, 2016 by Giorgio N
XV571
Both Isradecals and Sky's made decals for the F-15 in Israeli service. The Sky's sheet is easily available, the Isradecals one may be harder to find. In any case we're talking expensive decal sheets here. An alternative would be searching for the old Micro/Superscale sheet 72-483 that included markings for 5 Israeli aircraft. It's been OOP for years though If you're quick, the Microscale sheet is currently in Hannants' second hand section: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/SS72483 . Generic Israeli squadron markings are on an old Almark sheet which has resurfaced: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AKA37, you'll have to source the Star of David insignia separately though. Your Airfix F-15E could be turned into a Ra'am although (as originally released) it's closer to a F-15B/D Baz. The biggest external difference is the jet pipes - the F-15I retains the 'Turkey feathers' deleted from USAF Eagles. More details here: http://www.f-15e.info/joomla/en/export-variants/f-15i-raam/197-f-15i-differences. If you go for a single seater the best F-15A/C is the later Hasegawa kit. Be aware that the cheaper kit coded C6 (or 00336) is their older mid 1970s kit which is much less detailed than their re-tooled late '80s version which was actually released as an Israeli F-15A/C back in 2003: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10030904 . As others have said, for the F-16, you could get a Revell or Hasegawa 'C' and Hi-Decal sheet 72-021: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/HD72021 which would result in a much better IAF Viper than the ESCI kit for a lot less than £30.
