sharkmouth
Any ideas on Mark and other markings? While I'm at it, what kit recommendations in 72nd or 48th? Regards, Edited June 10, 2016 by sharkmouth

JohnT
Interesting photo. Any idea where it was taken? I'd guess some sort of maintenance unit perhaps?
spitfire
There was a quite extensive thread somewhere regarding that photo, but I can't remember the details. Cheers Dennis

sharkmouth
Discussion starting about half way down page 1 of this http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234991849-early-westland-seafire-colours/ Thanks but still no closer to markings... Also, thanks to those who responded on kit recommendations. It seems to be an early Barracuda, which mark would that be (in order to get the correct kit)? KRK4m
Don't know the 48th scale kits, but Mk II by MPM and Mk III (labelled as SH) in 72nd scale use the same sprues - all extras for the latter (exhaust, radome) are supplied as resin details. Click on the box picture to see more details http://allegro.pl/no-mercy-bcm-mpm72078-sh72060-fairey-barracuda-i6141738457.html#imglayer BTW Special Hobby promises new tool Mk II for autumn 2016 - there's a thread on Rumourmonger. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234996489-172-fairey-barracuda-mkiiiii-by-special-hobby-sprues-release-in-2016/?hl=%2Bspecial+%2Bhobby Cheers Michael Edited June 10, 2016 by KRK4m
tonyot
I`ve always thought that it was an early 3 bladed Barracuda Mk.I.
Ex-FAAWAFU
Based largely on the exhaust, I agree with you. I'm 99% sure it's not a Mk.III, anyway.
Welkin
The Special Hobby kit (SH48028) can be made as a Mk.II or a Mk.III.
