Digger1895
What's the best way to get that weathered/worn effect on AFVs on the edges where two panels meet? A sort of dull metallic effect along the edge. Thanks Edited June 7, 2016 by Digger1895
SaintsPhil
You mean chipping? As in chipped paint? There's a few methods, either with a sponge or a brush or both! Try searching YouTube for chipping on AFV models, the Mig Jimminez videos are my personal favourite!
FrancieT
Use graphite from a pencil, once applied you can use your finger tip to polish it.
Digger1895
No I don't mean the chipping, it's more of a long 'smooth' weathered appearance. I like the pencil idea. Do you just roll the pencil along the seams on both sides? Are there any specific grades (HB etc) of graphite to use?
Levin
I an i too late? Nevermind You could try drybrushing I use a big flat brush (about 5 cm) But I normally don't do it with metallic paint but with the lightened up base color, but i could imagine it would work out too. Edit: I work in 1/72 Edited August 15, 2016 by Levin
Tim T
It's worth looking at this thread, which covers a number of techniques. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234949472-panther-f/?hl=panther
