Eduard Lim. Edition Rockin Rhino, F-4J Phantom II 1/48

Recommended Posts

Great work Oliver. I am curiously awaiting when you get to the main gear. I haven't built this kit yet, but from what I've read, the main gear must be installed prior to joining the wings to get it properly aligned. If there's a way to avoid that and attach it late in the build after painting, please share.

Thanks Gentleman for your comments!

Giemme, seats are finished - pics tomorrow.

Texan76, main gear will be next step and as you said it must be prior be installed!

Maybe there is a way to attach it later, must look but the manual tells another story :)

Oliver, seats look great!

If I may just add a small hint: a dark-ish wash on the seat belts and straps, followed by a matt clear coat, would give them an even more realistic effect

Ciao

PS: I also think the firing handles on top of the seats should be leaning down rather then pointing up, like this

Hi Oliver,

The seats look great and the belts will look even better once toned down a bit.

Startet on the landing gear, this section is tricky....

used some cooper wire and tamiya tape to create a realistic view

Jan, you have good taste sir!

Look witch aircraft i desided for my next build

1196-c_zpstrigsw1g.jpg

312th Squadron Starfighter (from the Eduard Natofighter kit)

Otherwise, during the EURO2016 break i found time for my Phantom!

Not to much pics, have a look

Please note that the intakes will be closed with quickboost covers!

There are 2-3 gaps to fill with Mr. Surfacer, no problem! The acadamy kit is just awesome, really good.

Thanks Paul,

also, my decision witch F-4J is fallen!

Well, its this beauty

f-4j-phantom-ii-vmfa-232-red-devils-lw-1

VMFA-235 Death Angels, Nr. 153887, MCAS Kaneohe Bay, 1972

inkl. 3 BQM-34 drone "kill" marks on the left intake splitter plate

But, i´m undecided which arming i use (which is correct....)
