Print Scale decals

Just had my first ever sheet from them today - Martin Maryland selection. Obviously I've not used them as yet but they look very nice, good colours and excellent registering of the printing. Cost seems reasonable.

Used Printscale JU 87 decals recently.Very thin and prone to curl up.However did not need to use any decal solutions to make them conform, just applied on a coat of Kleer. No problems with colour density, the whites are white, the yellows yellow and no particular silvering to speak of.Bought a few other sheets since and no doubt will buy more,as you get an excellent selection of schemes to choose from.

I've a few of their 1/48 sheets. Used one. Bf 109F-4 Part 1 in lieu of the supplied in box Zvezda decals. Also have the F-2 Part 1 for my other Zvezda Friedrich.

You get a lot for the money, but they don't waste space on the sheet. Instructions are basic but all that's needed with the plethora of research detail available via the medium of the internet. I love them.

In register, colours are solid, carrier is thin, and detail is there including fin Hakenkreuzen which haven't been 'shoahed' yet, at least on the -F series sheets I have. No such luck on the more recent release Bf 110 sheet though. :fuhrer:

Here in AU, Print Decal makes alternate schemes offered with their aftermarket decals affordable rather than my usual baulk at the imported cost + p&p option of so many other brands.

I'll be buying more. Awaiting restock of their 1/48 LA-5 Part 1 sheet, I also want their recently released 1/72 Bf 110 Nightfighter & Interceptor Aces sheet, but they're difficult to source affordably from here yet.

As an addendum to this post which I made yesterday, I have been thinking and looking at said Maryland decals and wondering if perhaps the colours are a bit awry, in particular, the RAF roundel red and blue look a little (or a lot!) too bright. I've had out my Azur kit decals and two sheets of original Frog Maryland decals and none seem to agree with each other at all. It's probably not the ideal slot to discuss Maryland colours so I may scan all of them and invite comments via a different thread.

I used Print Scale decals on my 1/35 UH-1C and I'll never use them again. Put them down using Micro Sol and Set on gloss varnish. The silvering was horrendous, despite numerous applications of sol and pricking the decals with a pin.

Hth.

I'd have to agree about the RAF colours, the Red used, is too maroon, though they do look to be in register!
