Very nice, can't beat a good Whif!

I think the French actually had a variant of the Jaguar which was used on their aircraft carriers. Any Jag experts out there that can shed some light?

The underpowered M required that any catapult is made with the P.C. (quite dangerous because the flames were very close to the blast of the catapult). Similarly, over inflation of the front axle gave the apparatus a plate such that the flames P.C. also touched the bridge near the catapulte.Jaguar M05 to the landing on the Clémenceau. (© Marine Nationale) For the tests, the blast was kept back and a steel plate 20 mm thick was welded to the deck to avoid its heating, which was far from operational use. During every catapult-launchings and particularly with external loads, the catapult was stressed to the limit of its possibilities (5g 5.5 g), which induced him structural incidents that ended the campaign second aircraft carrier (engine mounts cracked on the M05).
All this is not very functional, a series of measures were planned to improve the behavior of the Jaguar on board:
-Allongement Catapults aircraft carriers.
-Cooling Of the blast and the bridge by a circulation of water.
-New Wing for the M05.
The cost of these changes, plus the addition of the modular PC needed for single engine landing with external loads became excessive for the Navy who also had some doubts about the structural integrity of the aircraft to aging (corrosion problem NIDA on Atlantic that could Jaguar, among others).
