80-219 has returned to its former base in Suffolk today. The aircraft will go on show this weekend as it is, then work will be doe to re-attach the tails & wings which were dismantled for transport. The aircraft will also be repainted in a correct Euro 1 scheme.

You don't realise the size do you until it's on a low loader ? great to see an A-10 back at Bentwaters but that colour !! glad it's going back to Euro 1.

Well done to the team at Bentwaters.

Thanks for posting Julien.

.

Back to '219', and more work has been done today. Nice to see Julien do some proper work for a change. It's in very good shape for an airframe that has spent the last 20 years out in the open. Very little corrosion, but it's a big old beast to get ready, so it will take a little more time yet before she looks her best.

Gents please can you keep ALL politics etc regarding the current A-10 fleet out of this thread or I will delete it. This thread is only here to show the current 80-219 being restored to display startus.

Thanks

Julien

For info the A-10 is in the museum compound and work progressing to do a full survey as well as working on rubbing that paint job back. After this pic was taken a nice new set of engine coveres are in place.
