Hello,Friends - A little more progress today. The Fin Top and Anti-Glare Panel are done. The whole airframe has also received a coat of 'Klear'.This will protect the underlying paint during the course of the remaining detail painting. ;) All the very best,Paul.

Hello,Guy - Great to hear from you and many thanks as always.1/32 scale? I don't think my nerves (or Pam's) would stand that!? :D I've just finished the NMF leading edge on the yellow section of the Fin.Humbrol Metalcote as per usual.I'll buff that very lightly and seal that and the yellow section with another coat of ''Klear' tonight in readiness for the main tail decals. ;) All the very best,Paul.

That's coming along very nicely mcdonnell!

Re the Century Series line-up, the 'missing' F-103' was a Mach3 design study by Republic, looked a bit like a missile!

Hello,71chally - Many thanks for your kind and interesting reply. The 'F-103' is not a subject I'm familiar with but I'll enjoy researching the type in due course. ;) All the very best,Paul.

Hi Paul,

Great looking scheme and superb painting job you have there :goodjob:

Looking forward to the NMF bits :)

Cheers

Jaime

Hello,Jaime - Many thanks for your very kind and most welcome reply as always.Since your reply,I've posted an update of my progress tonight.I wanted to get the tail decals in place as soon as I could.Any problems due to age or quality of the kit's sheet would have made a sudden rethink on the colour scheme and markings options.I'm delighted to say they've behaved perfectly and responded well to Microset and Microset.I can keep the yellow tail!! :D Fingers crossed for the rest of the build:!! ;) All the very best,Paul.

Really coming together now Paul the colour looks great on the tail, I know what you mean about 1/32 scale Em nearly had kittens when my 1/24 Airfix Typhoon arrived!! And when I got the Lynx she had a strange look on her face but all was well when I told her it was going to be folded up !

Hello,Guy - Many thanks to you as always.Masking up the remaining areas of NMF is the next phase on 'Dagger' I'm pleased you've got a 1/24 Airfix Typhoon in your stash.I don't have one myself but it gets tremendous reviews and builds into an awesome model.Good tactics with the folding rotors!!:D All the very best,Paul.

Hello,Friends - A little more progress. The NMF to the Intakes and Jet Pipe areas are done.Humbrol Metalcote(Aluminium) was brush painted on and buffed when dry.The Jet Pie area was then shaded a little with Tamiya Weathering Pastels (Gunmetal and Rust) to give a little tonal effect. The pitot probe(sewing needle) has been cleaned of paint and polished.;) All the very best,Paul.

Impressively neat, Paul! The NMF painting turned out very good, especially being brush painted!

Cheers

Jaime

Hello,Jaime - Many thanks to you as always.Originally I'd planned on airbrushing the NMF.However, with putting the tail markings on at such an early stage of the detail work,I was a little apprehensive about putting masking tape on the decals even though they are well and truly sealed and protected under a couple of coats of 'Klear'.i therefore decided to try brush-application and I'm content enough with the result.I wouldn't tackle a whole NMF airframe with a brush but respect the results many fellow members on the Forum achieve by that method.;) All the very best,Paul.

Hello and thank you very much as always,Guy.Yes indeed,I've shed blood a couple of times after picking a fight with the nose pitot!! :D I've moved things on a bit more this evening. The Undercarriage Legs,Wheel Rims and Navigation Lights are now painted. The whole airframe has received another two brush-applied coats of Klear and ready for decalling.I feel to be making better progress with Dagger now. ;) All the very best,Paul.
