Does anyone know of any photos of Scouts in the Jordanian markings which come as an option in the Airfix kit? I'm wondering if the side bulges were fitted as shown in the instructions I've tried google but only got pictures of completed Airfix kits, couldn't find anything in the Flight magazine archive, nothing in the Westland Putnam....... I wonder if there was anything in Air Enthusiast / Air International ? I've the first 50 or so volumes of each but no index! rossm Posted May 20, 2016 Author Share Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) Partly answered my own question - Scale Aircraft Modelling had an Aircraft in Detail on the Scout and Wasp which has drawings of two Jordanian Scouts with the side bulges and a thin gold cheatline between upper and lower surface colours which flows over the bulges. Don't think I can mange to paint that so maybe I'll do the SAS example shown in overall light grey - but which grey - Light Aircraft Grey or an army colour? (always learning on this site) I was going to question it being white rather than grey but then the stripe on the tail rotor looks lighter and the horizontal stabiliser looks darker. I'm not sure about the B+W photo interpretation can of worms but it looks like I've opened the 'careful how you interpret drawings' one. The large side bulges seen in the photo are indicated in the drawing when you know to look for them but I missed them first time around and they aren't in the kit (only small ones) so that's another 'too difficult' option.
