MikeGTC
Hello everyone!Been a while since I posted anything and made a model... Difficult for me to build models when it's cold since I have to paint outside... Since it's been 7 months that I build a model I decided to build almost the same model as my last one, a Ferrari California. The open top version this time. The box: This one will be painted in Ferrari Grigio Ingrid. Started with marking the mould lines. And made a template for a carbon fiber decal at the back. Thanks for watching! MikeGTC
Got some more work done on the California: Put all the parts in the Zero paints primer. And had enough time to put all the parts in their main colour. The wheels I plan to use. Do need to modify the suspension a bit for these, and the tyres are to big... Right now the body in drying from the clearcoat. Thanks for watching! Mike
MikeGTC
Finnished the interior tub. It is a combination of flat black and satin black. Thanks for watching! Mike
shood23
The colour is lovely Mike. Very clean job on the body, wheels and interior Shaun

rjfk2002
You picked a Beautiful color! I noticed that you marked the mold lines while prepping the body. why did you do this? Is it a guideline for cleaning up the mold lines (will it largely fade away as you clean up the plastic)?
MikeGTC
You picked a Beautiful color! I noticed that you marked the mold lines while prepping the body. why did you do this? Is it a guideline for cleaning up the mold lines (will it largely fade away as you clean up the plastic)? Hey, Yea I do this on all the mould lines, then I sand until the black line is gone. And if the black line is gone, the mould line is gone to. It is explained more in this video, in the first 2 minutes. Mike
MikeGTC
The clearcoat on the body: The colour dosn't look that 'yellow' The bonnet fell on the ground outside, while the clear was 2 hours old... 2 small scratches remain... Finnishing the model right now, should be done tomorrow Thanks for watching! Mike Edited May 12, 2016 by MikeGTC
shood23
Another coat of clear and a polish will sort those scratches out Mike. Again the colour is very nice with the clear coat it's turned into a champagne sort of colour, very American colour which is mainly where these sold ironically Shaun
MikeGTC
That's why it has a California lisence plate! Thanks for the tip! But the scratch went trough the colour... Well scratch, its 1mm big... Placed some BMF for under the rear lights. The C1 models tyres dodn't really fit... The finnished suspension and engine. And the engine bay. The final picture's: This was a nice kit to build after a build stop of 7 months. The body and underside are a bit warped but it all fits. Biggest downside are the decals, you hardly see them... Nick Belbin
That's a great finish. And a great tip on dealing with mould seams - thanks! Nick
