Tony Mollica
Hi Everyone, I'd like to enter this GB please, with a Revell Hunter FGA9 converted to a GA11, and finished as a member of the 'Rough Diamonds' aerobatic team. I've got the Airfile Decals 1/72 HAWKER HUNTER FIGHTERS IN ROYAL NAVY SERVICE sheet and the Alley Cat Models 1/72 HAWKER HUNTER GA11 Weapons Trainer Resin Conversion Kit. This will fit in nicely with my Aerobatic Teams Hunters' project. Well, here goes. I think this kit was released in 2005 so it's not too bad, this will be the 4th Revell Hunter I've built. Cheers Tony These are my existing aerobatic team Hunters. Cheers Tony

Tony Mollica
Thanks guys. I've raced ahead with this one, I've just used the kit pieces and decals for the cockpit, as with it closed its difficult to see much more than the seat. I cleaned up the inside of the intakes, filled the ejection pin marks there, and closed it all up. These photos shows the Alley Cat conversion parts in place for the nose wheel bay, nose and rear fuselage. The next phase is to clean this all up. Colin W
I have seen a couple of decal sheets with the 'Rough Diamonds', GA-11 with a red spine, but as a kid I remember the 'Blue Herons' at Yeovilton but they never seem to get a mention. Were they the same team renamed or a later group? Colin
Tony Mollica
Hi Colin, There are decals for a GA11 of both the 'Rough Diamonds' and 'Blue Herons' on Fantasy Printshop Airfile sheet 72-003, which I have. I may do the 'Blue Herons' after this one, but I'm not sure yet. Cheers Tony

Tony Mollica
I've got this thing ready to prime now, after a few days of clean up and rescribing the panel lines that needed it. Cheers Tony
Tony Mollica
I've done some work on my Hunter. Completed construction. There were some pin holes in the resin that were a little troublesome, but got there. Primed with Tamiya aerosol fine white primer. Underside is Tamiya gloss acrylic white. Masked and sprayed the fluoro panels. more to come.... Cheers Tony

Tony Mollica
Hmmm, I noticed the last day of this GB was rapidly approach, so I got motoring on this thing. It's the Revell Hunter FGA.9 with the Freightdog GA11 conversion set, Fantasy Printshop decals with Xtradecal roundels and fin flashes. I hope that you like it. I started a project some time ago to build 5 aerobatic team Hunters, this is the fourth of them.
