Me163 Komet: UK use. Scheuschlepper?

I'm currently building a Me163 Komet for a "Winkle Brown's logbook" GB elsewhere, as the machine he flew in the UK as a glider.

Its colour scheme is well documented, but I can't find any information on whether a Scheuschlepper, the Komet's dedicated ground-handling

rig was used at Farnborough or Wisley, or whether the RAE improvised in time-honoured British fashion with another means of moving

the Komet.

Does anyone of the BM massive know, or know how or where this info can be found, or have a photo which could confirm use or otherwise

of the Scheuschlepper? I realise that absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence, but I'd like to be able to make an informed choice of

displaying the model with or without its tractor, without guessing!

It's not a showstopper, and my inclination is not to use the tractor, but a Komet mounted in the rig is a little more interesting . . .

I just checked my copy of the book and Captain Brown doesn't mention the tractor. There's a couple pictures of the one he flew and they just show it on the regular wheels.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your input, guys. I had hoped someone might have some info, I've got Capt. Brown's books and there's no mention, as FG2Si says above.

So it looks like I could use a little Modellers' Licence and display it with the tractor . . .

Don't want to nitpick, but I think it should read Scheuch-Schlepper (tractor by Scheuch).

You're correct!

I think that Scheuschlepper is in general use as the term for this machine, but, yes, Scheuchschlepper is the correct term.

Most of the photos of VF241 are the walkround shots (as on Rob's page here https://robdebie.home.xs4all.nl/me163/vf241.htm)I don't recall any published that show it in towed mode.

That said, the RAF did make use of ex-German hardware - there was an SdKfz 7 at Marham until at least 1952. I'll have another look when later
