Eduard Lim. Edition Danger Zone, F-14A Tomcat 1/48

One to be proud of! Really must get my backside in gear and make another Cat, especially as it's been 30 years since Top Gun was released!?!

Blimey that makes me feel old!

I'm wondering about the crew ranks. The pilot is an Ensign? and the RIO a Commander.

In this case, yep. Ranking has no bearing on which seat they fill, just quals. The CDR (likely squadron CO) in this instance is "only" a NFO (Naval Flight Officer), not a pilot. Sarcastic emphasis on "only" because both roles are equally important, the bird can't fulfill the mission without both of them. ;) Though in practice, the name would typically be the 2nd highest ranking pilot on this aircraft instead of a junior pilot (the highest ranking would be on the "200" aircraft unless the CAG CO was a pilot). Then they typically moved down the pecking order (200-207, 210-215) until they run out of aircraft.

Thank you Gentleman! Now i know i made a tolerable job with the wash :coolio:

Robert, the wash i used is self-made!

Only pastel-chalk (in my case black, dark brown and grey) mixed with thinner, a few drops dishsoap and water. 1 layer on the surface, let dry for about 15 minutes, the a second one.

After this, you take a wet ktchen roll and remove the wash! Finito.

Back to the build, i must say that the Resin weapons are first class, but not easy to handle! This will take a few days......

Hi Oliver,

Your persistence with the canopy has paid off looks great, and the stance of the jet with the compressed nose oleo looks good but make sure the ladder is stowed before launch !!!
