hairystick
Also, i finished the arrestor hook Oliver Hi Oliver, Almost there! Those exhaust cans take a bit of work. Regarding the RBF tag on the hook. I think it should be closer to half way along the hook rather than at the end. This was impossible to check during the pre-flight due to that part normally being well out over the edge of the flight deck. I read that on one cruise it was missed and also the final checkers failed to pick it up too, resulting in zero chance of lowering it and a forced landing into the barrier was the only way of recovering back onto the ship!
madcat911
Some great work here. Regarding the exhausts, the fairing on the outside which butts up against the horizontal stabiliser should be in camouflage colour and not metallic. Mark
Aviano
Hairystick and madcat911, thanks for your infos your eagle eyes About the RBF tag on the hook, i will correct that - but is 1 enough or should there be 2 of them? On many pics i saw 2 of them on the hook! Mark, the fairing will be sprayed when the exhaust are finished completly, but thanks. Oliver

Hi Oliver, I can't find any photos of 2 RBF pins. Plenty with the one pin inserted though. There are two "lumps" on the upper side of the hook. One is merely a large rubber bumper and the other (closer to the pivot point) is the uplock where the pin goes. Do you have a link for a photo with 2 pins attached? You've got me intrigued now! Better get a seat and popcorn booked for the Rhino too!
helios16v
There may have been instances where they had 2 flags hanging off 1 pin.
