Redboost
Hi folks, these are my recently finished Mossie kits. B Mk IV from Hasegawa with Extratech etched a lot of scratch building. Markings from the kit. PR Mk XVI Tamiya conversion using Blackbird Models engines and CMK accessories. Markings from the Rising Decals sheet. They will be featured in Valiant Wings Aiframe Miniature series that is due in June. Cheers Libor
JimHead23
Really beautiful work. The Hasegawa kit always looks a bit 'pudgey' in the mid fuselage section compared to the Tamiya but the rudder seems to be a more accurate shape on the Hasegawa to my untrained eyes. Absolutely outstanding work and thanks for sharing, Regards Jim

WildeSau75
Just wow - these belong to the best Mosquitos I have seen so far - no matter what scale. Like them both altough I prefer the PR one due to its color. May I ask what color you used for the PRU blue? Cheers, Michael
Redboost
Thanks gents! The PRU blue is mixture of GSI Aqueous, 50% of Intermediate Blue, 20% RLM78, 20% of Mid-Grey and 10% White. Cheers Libor

bombernut
Both excellent builds Libor. I always admire your work, and I always like a good Mossie. Can I ask how the Blackbird engines were? I have two sets, but have not used them due to the wonkiness of the forward intakes (they look squished to one side) and the diameter at the front face is too small for the Tamiya spinners. I'd be interested to know if you had the same problems? Cheers, Matt
Mountain goat
Mouth watering, both of them - but the PR one must wear one of the prettiest schemes out there on any aircraft. Excellent finish, nice detail in the work stations. Jay

Mr Modeller
Very nice indeed Libor, two of the nicest looking Mossie builds I've seen in a very long time!! :tasty: Love your painting style and the restrained weathering, it all looks perfect - that is a top job!! Redboost
Thanks gents for kind comments! The Blackbird engines looked fine to me and were of much more user-friendly nature than the CMK conversion units that I initially planned to use. The diameter of the front faces was almost spot on, I just had some troubles putting the spinners on the shafts as these were moulded slightly off-centre. After removing them the fit was OK. Maybe just had bad luck with somehow deformed or shrinked castings, not unusual for resin bits I'm afraid. Cheers Libor
