TristanR Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Hello! I'm a Fairly recent returnee to to the hobby, and was keen to try out all these new techniques. Please excuse this rusty Chieftain, I got one of those Tank Art books, and it's easy to get carried away practicing all those techniques. I could say it was a very lucky range target, but I don't suppose they'd leave the baskets and GPMG on... Anyway, I had fun making it (Apart from the tracks, that wasn't fun) and learnt a lot about chipping, oil paint and such. Cheers! 22
Gremlin56 Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Nice work on the weathering effects. I wouldn't worry about the accuracy if you had fun 2
fredben Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 Done a good job there. just do what you want on the builds no need to worry about accuracy, just enjoy...the weathering effects you have done are brilliant. The rust effect and scratches look spot on. Well done. 1
PlaStix Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Well for saying you are a recent returnee you seem to mastered the art of weathering beautifully! Some off those photos look like they could be of the real thing. Very well done. 1
Reini78 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 well, you gotta train weathering somehow nice work! 1
Nick Belbin Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Lovely - the more I see this kit, the more I want one. Or two. Or three. Nick 1
phildagreek Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Looks good from here, nice job all round, your rust looks good but I suspect the RSM may just explode! 1
pacificmustang Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 well, your rust may be a little overdone, as you say, but I really love the effect you have achieved. You seem to be mastering all the techniques nicely. Mike does say in the books, it takes about 4-5 kits to achieve the best results. Looks like you are well on your way Bruce 1

Buzby061 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Good effects on the Chiefy. I'd say that Tank Art book was money well spent. Pete 1
TristanR Posted May 7, 2016 Author Posted May 7, 2016 Thanks for all the nice comments folks! I have ordered Takom's new T-55 for my next tank, this time with less rust.
Calum Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Whilst it might not be 100% accurate you've done a great job on it. The rust effects are fantastic.
Bodmin Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Oh yes. Very nice and good weathering too. It looks to be a lovely kit.
mixup_1 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 That's a beauty mate! Weathering is spot on for me, got some really nice rust effects going on! Well done!
4509davidb Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Looks great - i have the berlin Brigade one to do next and am dreading the tracks - did you go all the way round or stop behind the skirts?
TristanR Posted May 24, 2016 Author Posted May 24, 2016 Thankyou all for the comments, Davidb, I decided to go the whole way with the tracks, mainly because I didn't think it was possible to paint them off the tank. It was a total pain in the bottom. With paint
