Hawker Sea Fury FB.11, 1/72 Trumpeter, Royal Australian Navy, Korea 1951

Recommended Posts

Something new for my Korean War aircraft collection - 1/72 Hawker Sea Fury FB.11, serial VX 730, number K 109, 805. Squadron Royal Australian Navy, HMAS Sydney, Korea 1951.

Built with Trumpeter`s kit, Eduard`s Zoom PE parts for cockpit and Pavla`s resin propeller. Some modifications were made (for ex.: 3mm longer gear struts, bigger wheels, area behind the cockpit aligned to fuselage, opened step on port side, exhaust pipes, pitot tube etc.). Decals are from AIMS decals set "UK & Commonwealth in Korea". Painted with Gunze C.

That looks beautiful. I have two of these in my stash and this may have given me the incentive I need to get cracking on one!

Thanks for sharing.

Excellent work! The weathering is very impressive as well, it doesn't look 1/72.

Silk purse. It may have an 'A' between the 'R' and 'N' but its a Sea Fury in EDSG/Sky and therefore resulting is the most stunning single engine piston aircraft ever.

Hard to believe that's 1:72 scale, just superb, stunning, beautiful, magnificent and every other superlative .... WOW!! .... that is so good and the weathering is spot on, especially the exhaust staining!! :Tasty: :tasty: :Tasty:

As with other comments-I'd have pegged this at 1/48 from just the visuals. Lovely build of a graceful craft. The photos bring it up a treat.

Nice one.

A terrific looking Sea Fury with a beautiful paint finish. It could easily pass as 1/48th.
