Spookytooth
Cheers folks. Gremlin, I used my old Expo A/B she got a 0.3 mm nozzle and sprayed at 1 bar 15 lb/sq in. It leveled out quite well, I will wait to see how it performs later. Anyhow, after a nice curry, a little report. Got some priming done today, to se what needs remedial work done, ( most of it by the looks of it) Also laid down the base coat for the cockpit. And the I.P.s got a coat too. Now, how to mask the side panels on the cockpit walls? I could be a long time LOL. All comments welcome. Simon.
Gremlin56
Get a bottle of artists masking fluid. It's basically the same stuff that Humbrol market as Maskol but it's cheaper. Slap it on, let it dry, spray the cockpit and when all's dry peel off the masking fluid.
giemme
Good progress, Simon Now, how to mask the side panels on the cockpit walls? I could be a long time LOL. Why not skipping all of that masking and painting the consoles by brush? Ciao
Air-to-Air
There's some nice detail there on the side consoles and the instrument panels. I haven't checked it, but some it looks reasonably accurate (from memory). I think I might have to get one of these, if only to muck around having a bit of fun with it.

Spookytooth
Well folks, thanks for all the nice comments . Time for an update. Most of the time it has been the same old thing... Prime, fill sand, prime, and repeat... Tonight, I decided to become stupid. Those launcher rails? Well here it goes. I cut a piece of brass rod 1.00 mm dia, 0.8 mm inner + a piece of plastic rod 0.8 mm. Did a dry fit. Then realised that I had glued them on the wrong way round. OH BOTHER.... But I can repair it, I think. A few bits of painting have been done. The back seat "stick". The front seat "stick". And the seat tops. So, tomorrow, I will get some more done. All comments welcome. Simon.

Gremlin56
Wouldn't be the first time I have stuck something on the wrong way Managed that on my IV build just recently and no one noticed Nice work on the cockpit odds and ends. Keep the pic's coming
Spookytooth
Cheers all. Well, I got time today to fix the launcher rails, after the first calamity. And the pair of them. I am going to let them set overnight and then have a good look then before a coat of primer. All comments welcome. Simon.

Spookytooth
Thank you all for the kind comments. Just a little update. The cockpit, nearing its finish. Dry fitted the seats and seat tops. When I go to fit the cockpit into the fuselage, I will leave off the seat tops, they could be vulnerable to clumsy fingers etc. All comments welcome. Simon.
giemme
Nice progress, Simon Leaving the seat tops off is a smart idea, I did the same on my build Are you going to add any washes/highlights to the tub? Ciao
Spookytooth
"Are you going to add any washes/highlights to the tub?" Yes Giemme, some dry brushing to the control panels and I.P.s to highlight, and a light wash on the seats, we will see . Gremlin56
Coming along nicely here Simon, some dry brushing and then pick out some things with a small brush should work fine.
Spookytooth
Cheers for the comments lads. A small update. Dry brushed the cockpit panels with Tamiya white powder. Then some silver from the same range. I also high light the levers and mini sticks. The I.P.s got the same treatment, giving the scopes a drop of Tamiya XF 56 Metallic Grey first then a drop of their clear orange X 26. I am going to leave those bits to dry for now. I hope to do the cockpit walls tomorrow. All comments welcome. Simon.

Gremlin56
Looks great Simon, doing any accentuating of knobs, (Fnar Fnar), or switches with a pointed hairy stick?
Spookytooth
OK folks, thanks for all the comments, it really helps. Well not a lot done recently, life etc but here is the state of play. As the cockpit is needed to be fitted before the fuselage is put together, I have attacked that area. No extra details, spherical s to that, E.S Handle + 2, there is another one. Washes on. First black then some burnt sienna on the seats. Next job will be to seal with satin varnish before finishing the I.P.s off. Until the, all comments welcome.
