I really hope Eduard or Tamiya do a 1/48 Hurricane at some point. It’s an overlooked subject for some reason!

Maybe Arma can scale up their Hurricane series to 1/48

Arma has already announced a 1/48 Hurricane Mk.IIc; it’s in their shop under Hurricane but is not available for preorder yet.

Would have been nice to have one or two more non usual subject decals choices as well.......but good price if you care about such goodies and decent for the raw pair of kits if you don't

Agreed Stu, the markings choices for Hurricane kits (not just this set) do tend to go for already well-known aircraft for the most part, that said I'm not sure that's the complete and finalised line-up* as there are two of P/O Clowes' JX-B shown on the sheet that appear to be identical... as for the extras, while I wouldn't necessarily replace the kit parts, as they are included in the kit I would certainly use them :)

Cheers,

Stew

* Edit - just noticed the Eduard leaflet has 'Preliminary Images' watermarked on the Hurricane markings page, so obviously not the finalised markings, or not all of them at least

Arma is working on the 1/48 Hurricane Mk. IIc - I believe that they said it would be around the end of the year, possibly December. They have commented that they've had some delays due to Covid, so the Hurricane might come out early next year. I suspect that if it does well, they will do a Mk. I as well.

Given the Eduad's title, I wonder if we can expect a second boxing of the Mk. IIs at some point in the future. It would be particularly awesome if they would include the external cannons for IId, or maybe even do a conversion for IV...one can dream :) Or perhaps Arma will get there first ;)

Scalemates says, there should be some Eduard overtrees kits of the Special Hobby Bf-109E series.
https://www.scalemates.com/hu/kits/eduard-7031x-bf-109e-1-overtrees--1359537
But these are not in the last two leaflets. What can we know yet?
(I just bought the Adlerangriff dual combo edition and it would be a sheme to miss out that much marking options)

Overtrees for Bf-109E-1, E-3 and E-4/7 were available from the beginning of August IIRC.

I bought mine on 22/08 for less than £5 each. Now they seem to be discontinued.

It seems Eduard know that their 1/48 kits are just bound to sell so well that focusing on 1/72 makes little economic sense. I feel like the competition in 1/72 is tougher, while every 1/48 Eduard I've seen is just clearly the best kit of the aircraft in that scale.
