longshanks
Looks like the long awaited Revell Corvette is soon to be released http://www.modellmarine.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4467:revell-britische-korvette-der-flower-klasse-1144-testshot&catid=58:rev Click on small images for larger pic http://www.revell.de/en/products/model-building/ships/naval-ships/id/05132.html
stevehnz
Beaut, I've been waiting for this, a nice compromise size from the 1/72 Matchbox/Revell kit, those detail shots on the Revell site look the goods. Steve.
Darwinism
Excellent - thanks for the heads-up. I don't make many ships but I'm looking forward to this one. Edited April 10, 2016 by Darwinism
MODeller
Given that it is a new mould kit I was hoping for more refined mouldings, guess the aftermarket boys will make a killing! MODeller
Dads203
Doesn't look a bad kit at all , looking forward to seeing your build though Kev , if the deck gun is anything to go by
bootneck
................. guess the aftermarket boys will make a killing! MODeller Looks like L'Arsenal has already started, with a 20mm Oerlikon. Might be able to get them from Starling Models in due course? Mike
Richard G
Aftermarket will be all over this, which is good - plenty of scope to go nuts. No interest in Snowberry so hopefully plenty of options will become available to do your own thing.
Bonhoff
Looks like L'Arsenal has already started, with a 20mm Oerlikon. Might be able to get them from Starling Models in due course? Mike Although, in Revell's defence, their Oerlikon in 144th is infinitely better than Matchbox's attempt in 72nd.....
longshanks
For anyone interested in a detail picture of Snowberry Click pic can be enlargemoved http://zoom.iwm.org.uk/view/7304&cat=photographs&oid=object-205016745 Kev
colin ritchie
I've always had in mind a dio of a flower class tied up on the quayside , its was a touch unrealistic in 72nd , but 1/144.. now you're talking..N gauge buildings.. .. nice!!!!
longshanks
The L'Arsenal 20mm are superb miniatures .......... Out of interest I emailed 'Eduard' to see if they had any plans for an etch set for the Corvette here is the response Petra Šolcová (Eduard Support) Apr 13, 13:53 Dear Kevin, we have not made final decision on this one yet. So all I can say is that we do think about including a set for this kit in our PE line, but it has not yet been finaly decided. Have a nice day. Petra Solcova I must say they were very prompt with their answer So Come ON everyone start nagging, they haven't said no Kev
Mike McCabe
Looks like L'Arsenal has already started, with a 20mm Oerlikon. Might be able to get them from Starling Models in due course? Mike I was thinking of doing an etch set for it but will have to have a look at the kit first. As has been said, something to convert to a RN ship would seem a good idea. SUB-SAM
Definitely excited about this one, It would look wonderful to complement my growing 1/144 submarine/submersible collection as an 'adversary' model. I think it's a handsome looking corvette.

Mike
We have one in for review, and I'll be getting it out to Dave early next week. I couldn't comment on the contents though, as I haven't even opened the box yet
philtn
No pictures yet, but I have looked into mine today. It looks very good, actually I think it is above the usual revell standart. The plastic has very very little flash, it is a nice, darker plastic and the parts look quite crisply molded. I will get the hull together tonight I guess. It looks VERY promising, could be a real gem with Photoetch!!!
longshanks
Any chance of pics of the sprues? Kev
philtn
Here you go. Very dark already so quality is p... poor but that's all I can do for a first impression....it looks really quite good. I can not comment on the fit except for the hull though. The halves go together quite well, no complains here. I will attach a link to an album and not the individual pictures. Have fun. http://s109.photobucket.com/user/PhilTN/slideshow/flower_class_revell one quick impression, see the link above for the rst. stevehnz
Thanks for putting those spru shots up, it looks really very good to my eye, I think I'd be happy to do one without resorting to etch looking at those. Hoping this is adaptable to doing a model of HMS Crocus which was skippered by a Kiwi. Steve. Edited June 2, 2016 by stevehnz

Jessica
Most Canadian Flowers had the 2pdr bandstand farther aft than the British standard. Does the kit give you the option to do that?
longshanks
I see they still insist on portraying the bow incorrectly as per the original 1/72. There was no stem bar as shown, the front was a curved plate Kev Edited June 2, 2016 by longshanks
colin
Looks quite nice, typical Revell though heavy sprue gates and seams on the smaller parts.
philtn
well yes, it is still Revell, but I actually like it. I've seen far worse.
