Madhatter
I must say, your very inventive using icy pole sticks. In general, your overall use of different parts is spot on. You make them all look functional - not just stuck on. Great stuff Pete MH
Pete in Lincs
Thanks MH, They aren't really ice lolly sticks but are made of plastic card, that was just a way of explaining the shape. Anyway, somehow I managed to get some more done at the weekend. Hydraulics are sorted and the legs are fitted at last. And it stands up! Of course the hydraulics are just a representation of such and the plumbing (as I've done it) would not work in practice. The hoses are guitar wire and brass wire, the rams are plastic tube with split pins for the eye ends, while the cylinders are cut down motorcycle forks. After painting is complete I will use bare metal foil on the rams. I decided on the name swamp Donkey for this creation. Just need to translate that to German. Hope you like it. All comments welcome. matiwashere
Really nice how it turned out. The translation would be: Sumpfesel

Pete in Lincs
Some behind the scenes modeling and painting has been going on while everyone got on with their lives. Just bits and bobs but the end is nigh. You may notice that the fuel tanks on the rear have now gone to be replaced with a fan system which I rescued from my floaty boat 'Misfit' when I left the desert. Well I think it looks better anyway. I just started painting a crewman to go in the cupola and then I'll be looking at markings. I hope these pictures come out okay and you find something you like. Thanks for looking. Sgt.Squarehead
Stonking! I'd imagine something like this would need to be pressuirised for when it falls over and sinks (the periscopes probably help too)!
Pete in Lincs
Shhh! You'll spoil it for the children. I forgot to say, the sticky out bits on the upper nose, (probably sensors of some sort) were Italeri 1/35 wooden buckets. The flexible hose down the RH side supported the mic on a cheap pair of headphones. See if you can spot the 1/24th Porsche door mirror.
Hunter Rose
See if you can spot the 1/24th Porsche door mirror. Is it the bit on thew side of the box behind the fan unit? Loving all the details you've added Pete
Sgt.Squarehead
Starboard side, adjacent to the box on the spine (above the horizontal pipe).
Pete in Lincs
Well done. No prize though. I found ten minutes yesterday to put some markings on, I always think it starts to come to life then. More (better) pictures soon. (hopefully)
