Latinbear
The link below is to a Bloomberg Business News photo article showing some of the work involved in refurbishing Russian built T72s. What struck me is the run-down condition of the plant where the work is being carried out. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/photo-essays/2016-03-21/photos-ukraine-upgrades-its-battle-armor-of-t-72-tanks

Bordfunker
The strip down workshop looks very messy, however I noticed the area where the tanks are being rebuilt looks pretty clean. Great photos and an excellent subject for a dio. Karl
Latinbear
I did see a programme on cable when I was on holiday in the US a few years ago about repairing and overhauling Abrams tanks when they returned from duty in Iraq. A fascinating programme but the bit that sticks in my mind was the completely stripped down and empty hull being hoisted vertically into a chamber where it was blasted with sand or a similar abrasive to remove all the paint and other detritus. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the programme which I appreciate is not really very helpful. I would love to have a tour round that facility though.
