203 squadron Liberator GR VI, Kankesanderai, Ceylon, 1945

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have just signed up to say what a wonderful tribute to your great-uncle and crew. My father Kenneth Clarke was the co-pilot on a crew with five of these men (Morris, Collins, Smith, Leftwich and Silkstone) in the 203rd Squadron when they were still flying Wellingtons. Dad was transferred out to the 36th Squadron in July 1944, before the 203rd switched over to Liberators. You may know that your great-uncle W. A. Collins was known to his crew as "Trig", according to letters we have from my father at the time. I also have some photos of the men in Limavady where they were crewed up, and in India that I would love to share with you, but I don't think I can do that here? My dad was lucky to survive the war, and thought the world of these men that were lost so tragically.
