Plasto
Thanks folks I'm glad you like what you see. More decal work... Lots more stencils to go but the main markings are in as is the windscreen. Does anyone know if the inner armoured glass was tinted?? Cheers Plasto
Biggles87
I would think probably not, but because of the thickness it might have had a slightly green tinge when looked at from an angle. If you look at Giemme's Phantom build you will see a similar discussion with an ex F4 driver. HTH John

Giorgio N
I'm away from my reference books but I don't think it was tinted, likely this was an effect of theh thickness and the shape of the windscreen (the XVII had a rounded windscreen)
Plasto
Ok understood on the armoured glass.. Stencils tonight and a work around on the wing walkways Aurfix assume reasonably that you going to use their upper wing Roundels so I had to find a bit of spare black decal strip. Fortunately the old Seafire decals from the Seafire III / VC kit had lots spare... Cheers Plasto
Cookenbacher
Excellent work in the decals Plasto, especially the ones you have to cut on the fold lines.

Plasto
Hi, More progress... The girl is up on her legs I used some Ultracast resin wheels which look great with nice block tread. They're not strictly accurate but look great and really enhance the model IMHO and it was fun using them As its the first bit of Ultracast resin I've used. The prop is painted. I now face the thorny issue of the crowbar.. Given this is post war can I paint it red and avoid the ' the crow bar is red' comments that occasionally fly around?? Cheers Plasto...

Plasto
A few update images... Wings and prop on... So looking like a Seafire at last. A bit of detail painting and the canopy needs fitting and it's pretty much done... Stay tuned....
