Andy Moore
Chieftain Mk.5 Takom 1/35 I finished Takom's Mk.5 last December (having started it all the way back in September) It's a nice kit, although the BATUS markings supplied should in fact be for a Mk.10. I think Mig J. was a little lax on his research for this one. Built OOB apart from the MG and smoke discharger covers. The base used one of the AMMO branded model scene grass mats. It'll be nice to see how it stacks up against the Meng one, but that seems to have disappeared again, after having a brief revival late last year Thanks for looking Andy
keefr22
Simply stunning again Andy - I seem to be repeating myself now! But that is one of my favourites - love the BATUS schemes, especially when applied and weathered as well as that! Lovely little base and everything superbly well photographed as usual! Beautiful work! keith

SaintsPhil
Lovely work, did you use the kit decals even with the error or are they from elsewhere?

Andy Moore
Thanks everyone Lovely work, did you use the kit decals even with the error or are they from elsewhere? I used the kit decals, so technically it's wrong. I'm not sure if there are any aftermarket decals for a BATUS Mk.5, but if not, I'm sure some will be forthcoming eventually. Andy Thanks, I wasn't picking fault by the way I wondered it you'd modified them, purely so I could steal your research for a future build...

Graeme
I point this out every time I see a BATUS Chieftain model...one of the things I remember clearly from my various Ex Medicine Man tours during the mid-70's were the bullet holes in the turret NBC pack, where the infantry had used the tank as a target ("honest Sarge we didn't mean to shoot the tank") - the actual target was normally our sleeping bags
