Su-24MR Photo Etched Accessories for Trumpeter Kit

1:72 Eduard

Following hot on the heels of their sets for the Trumpeter MiG-29 comes another set for the Chinese manufacturer's Su-24MR. While the kit may not be perfect, it's very good indeed - you can find our review here - and well deserving of the Eduard treatment.

Su-24MR Photo Etched Detail Set for Trumpeter Kit

1:72 Eduard

This set comprises two frets of photo etched parts. The first fret contains pre-painted parts for detailing the cockpit, including harnesses and pull handles for the ejection seats, as well as details for the instrument panel and consoles, cockpit sidewalls and HUD unit. On the second, unpainted, fret are parts for the rest of the airframe. There are hydraulic lines for the landing gear, as well as parts to line the landing gear doors. The chaff and flare dispensers benefit from extra details, as does the Su-24's distinctive pitot tube. The rest of the fret contains a veritable Smörgåsbord of smaller details such as blade aerials and static discharge wicks.

Su-24MR Pre-Cut Masks for Trumpeter Kit

If you're short on time or sharp scalpel blades, Eduard also produce a set of pre-cut paint masks for the canopy and wheels. While not adding anything in terms of detail, these items can save you a bit of time and effort if you are that way inclined. They are a bit of a luxury on a relatively simple model such as this, so whether you use them or not will be very much up to you.

Trumpeter's Su-24 is very good, but there is always more than can be done in the pursuit of detail and realism. Eduard have delivered a suite of nice upgrades that should please every modeller keen to make the most of this fine new kit. Recommended.
