John Aero
Just the engine cowlings with bolt-on dummy parts I think they might have been ex Blue Max. or Darling Lil aircraft. John
stevehnz
Purely in the interests of science, I've bought a DVD of this movie, I haven't watched it for ages but its features in plans for a forecast iffy weekend. I'll pay special attention to the aircraft of course. Steve.

John Aero
I watched the movie again today and they were PPS Stampes as used in other films. There were a couple of Stampes and parts of the 'Indiana Jones' Hindenburg Stampes in still in the back of the hangar recently.
Greg in OK
The planes get a lot of footage in the trailer for High Road to China on You Tube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7A7OUE6rFQ Hope that helps some. Greg in OK
stevehnz
There're some good clips on that pages of this movie. Am I the only one that thinks that much of the theme music is more than somewhat like that from "Out of Africa" , not entirely surprising given it's the same composer but I can't help but think he did a minor rearrangement & called it good. Money for old themes. Steve.
John Aero
I agree with you, I love the 'wide open space' music as well as a number of other 'John Barry' themes. John
