I didn't realize his aircraft was a K, I thought it was a P-51D.

Very nice, what decals did you use?

44-72199 was a P-51D-20, not a 'K'.

first paragraph says Cutting Edge decals.

I used gunze no8 silver. Add gloss black for color change.

I kina lazy to not use super silver not alcad due to you have to primer it very well to make them stay there.

Really like it, very good job! Did you use Alclad for metal colors?

And how did you weather the wings...

Cheers :)

That's a really nice Mustang and the NMF is very convincing!

In fact, on the wings you could say that it's too convincing, since NMF P-51s had their wings carefully puttied, sanded smooth and painted silver, in order to make the best use of the laminar flow profile. So, no visible panel joints, apart from the gun access hatches, and a uniform silver surface. ;-)

Sterling modelling!

Kind regards,

Joachim

You are right my friend. Usually they do not carry rockets. I just thought that I looked cool to carry rockets and I do not like the drop tanks.

Very nice. Do you have references for 357th Mustangs using rockets? I've got a book on the 357th and I can't recall and pics or text saying anything about them using rockets. They were mostly too busy shooting German aircraft for that!

thanks

Mike

Personally I like airplane with weathering. So I added all these effects. Not always the same as real one looks but hey this is modeling.

I like this! This is a great looking Mustang! Your NMF is superb and I love how you have weathered the model too. Your photography is great! Wish I could get that look to my photo's!
