1/48 A-4F Skyhawk In-Flight Finished

Always a treat to see a scooter and yours looks great.

How did you manage to get a pilot in there. Any advise will be appreciated as I am planning a similar one with an Argentinian build coming up soon

Mr B,

I built one of these recently and used a pilot from a hasegawa phantom kit. Personally I had to perform surgery below the knee and trim legs so they were quite skinny.

I built one of these recently and used a pilot from a hasegawa phantom kit. Personally I had to perform surgery below the knee and trim legs so they were quite skinny.

I ended up cutting the pilots legs off just below the knee. In real life I flew with pilots in the A-4 that would have lost their legs on ejection because the bottom of the panel is right there next to your knees (these folks were over 6feet tall). I had to shave a little bit of the pilots back side, added some SV-2 pockets to the front of the pilots vest...and then painted him up. Test fitting is your friend, do a lot of it and things will turn out fine.
