Kes
I know there's a thread regarding Captain Browns passing ,so I hope it's okay to open this thread to suggest members here download and listen to the 3000th edition of Roy Plumbley's eternal series 'Dessert Island Discs' on BBC Radio 4 via the BBC iplayer, (itunes also available) he describes exploits through his unique and remarkable life to presenter Kirsty Young including flying consecutive loops through the three spans of the Forth Bridge in a Spitfire!! . . . Kes (very pround owner of a signed copy of 'Miles M52' Capt Brown would have been the test pilot of this incredible aircraft and probably the first man through the sound barrier to add to and extensive list of 'firsts')

bhouse
I'm sorry if I appear pedantic but it's "Desert Island Discs" and it was devised by Roy Plomley. If we're going to the trouble of getting Captain Brown's name correct then I think we owe the same duty of care to Roy Plomley.
Mitch K
I remember hearing it at the time, and having to explain to my wife who he was and why he was so important!
