Lightningboy2000
I know there was a thread ages ago regarding some builds of the F-86A in 1/72, but that was mostly related to the Matchbox kit.I currently have the Academy F-86E 1/72 and more or less know what needs to be done to it to make it into an A.Going to build one of these..Hs anyone tried using the Pavla F-86A canopy (V72-93) with the Academy kit? I know it's good for the recent and OOP Airfix kit, but will it fit my Academy kit, I hope to just use the front "V" windscreen.Martin

Scott Hemsley
If you need another source for an F-86A canopy, Falcon included one with their Clear Vax set, no. 43. Although it's intended for the Hobbycraft F-86E/Sabre 6 kits, it'll probably fit the Academy kit quite well. Not sure if this made it to Squadron's line of individual vac-formed canopies or not. Check their listing on the Falcon homepage. mmaker
I have the Falcon set and a Cutting Edge set with a canopy and resin slats. Both are not so detailed... Prefer to build an entirely new piece. Here some photos and drawing. They're from a HAF F-86E(M) but its the same!
Tony Edmundson
There's more to it than just the centre Vee shape. The two side glass panels are a different shape than on the flat windscreen. Since Falcon,CE, and Pavla have made an effort in giving us this shape, i'm going to use them. Made my own twice, and that was enough. Cheers, Tony
