Simon
Another quick update for today. The engines and exhausts are now on, and the main undercarriage is now complete, with the doors added. Engines and exhausts: The upper intakes were a complete mess, and needed a lot of cleaning up, which I was a little surprised at. Port wheel: and starboard: And the maintenance jack is finally done, complete with wheels and drawbar: Here the whole thing with the upper platform added, sitting on a sample section of the concrete base: I've also started on some figures for the diorama. These two will be perusing some drawings on a (scratch-built) trestle table, trying to figure out what the problem with the sticky undercart is: The one on the left is from the Revell RAF Pilots and Ground Crew set, and the one on the right is from the MMS Crash Tender set, with his head amended slightly. Hopefully the vehicles and figures will be ready soon, and the whole thing can finally be put all together. More soon... Simon
Another quick update for today, and hopefully onto the finishing straight... I've been busy with the vehicles and figures, but meanwhile I've managed to get the Stirling's turrets on and finished, and the cockpit glazing fitted. Nose turret, with two windscreen washer jets added as well: Mid upper turret: Tail turret: Cockpit glazing: Fit of the cockpit glazing wasn't great, but the Stirling is just about finished now, just the props to add I think. Everything is just about ready to all put together, so more soon... Simon
Wow, thanks everyone. I'm still figuring out eactly what I'm going to do with the base, figures and vehicles and where they will all go so it looks 'right'. I think is the most enjoyable part now all the various elements are ready. Cheers Simon

Simon
So, four and a half months down, and finally all done and dusted.
