HL-10
As always, superb modelling! I especially like the cast marks you've applied, they really do add to the final look.
Dads203
Thank you chaps, So a little update, I've added the welds to the upper hull today, Used the Archer decals and they look great, I did seal them in with clear as they are not good at being handled. Also removed the exhaust defector and I've started to correct it and thin down the louvres. Enjoy Dan

The_Lancaster
The attention to detail is stunning, I love the look of it so far. The idea of sealing in the cast marks is an idea i'll keep in mind for the future!

Dads203
Thank you all for the great feedback people, A very brief update as not much has happened over the last week or so as my heart wasn't really into doing much modelling. Anyway I'm back on it now, a few changes and tweaks have been done as I've been looking at some great ref pictures. Anyone thinking of building a Sherman needs to book mark this page. http://the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minutia/index.html It's great and should prove helpful. This also another good link. http://www.usarmymodels.com/ARTICLES/Sherman%20Corner/turretcheekarmor.jpg So I've added the later version of the 2 inch mortar that was fitted, it had a weather cap and chain and the barrel was slightly proud of the turret. I also swapped up the Commander aux sight, I used one from a much earlier version. Also removed the lifting lugs as they were glued too high up, mixture of Tamiya putty and cemment added to the damaged areas, these will get reworked later. Not much of an update but its been a mad week ! Dan

Dads203
Some nice touches there Dan Stupid question but what was a Sherman doing with a mortar? Kev It was designed to lay down smoke rounds, the crews hated it as got in the way of the cramped turret, they used the main gunto lay smoke screens most of the time as it was more effective. I did read that when the Sherman entered the Pacific theatre the Japanese troops would drop hand grenades down the the mortar barrel which could and did explode the breach inside the turret. The US only then decided to weld up the mortars on the Sherman fleet, most of the Easy 8's still had them. Dan

Dads203
Thank you everyone, so under doctors orders I have another update for you all. I've added the missing tow cable clamp next to the drivers hatch, Tamiya missed this one completely for some reason, I've also added more detail to the rear exhaust deflector, its not perfect but better than the vanilla kit part, I just need to add the bracket and hinge detail to the rear of the tank. Cheers Dan
