Martin, I just bought the first boxing of the kit. Can I buy an instrument panel decal that you include in the new boxing? Also, who makes seatbelts for the Mig-31? I know Eduard has them in their set, but I don't need all the the things they include in their set. Was looking for seatbelts only.

The first boxing is of a different model of the MiG-31. The latest kit is of the older B/BS which had different (analogue) cockpit instrumentation.

Sorry for the hijack Murray - Texan, I PM you just now. But also, you can make your own belts from PE sets released. Just google “soviet jet seat buckles 1/48” and that should do it.

Back to normal service ------->

Hi Martin

-First, I would like to thank you for your undisputable help .My 31 B is fastly approaching my (large) letter box. As a modeller, I'm never satisfied with whatever I get and I would like to know wether there is some decals for the demo blue bird somewhere on the markett.? The blue surfaces are a matter of paint job obtained without difficulties but the fin numbers and specifics insignas are another matter of things

So after what seems like a long time between updates here is the final one! Thanks to Martin's great customer service the required parts arrived to allow me to repair he undercarriage. I managed to get the old legs removed and drilled out the locating hols without any problems, the wheels were drilled out and everything refitted. The radome was also re-attached but this time I added a lot more weight, as others have already stated the kit supplied weights are not alone enough I think.

The afterburner cans have also been attached, this was not without problems of my own making, when I attached the rear engine area internals I didn't realize they must have been handed and i put them on the wrong sides so the exhaust cans didn't fit correctly, I had to remove a ring of plastic of the internal area of the exhaust cans so they would fit. I need to pay more attention to instructions!

The IFR probe is on and the masking removed from the canopy, I've no doubt overdone the discoloration of the canopy and may replace it in the future. I've started to add the pink sealant but not finished yet. The next photo's, hopefull on Friday will be in the RFI!
