smuts Posted February 11, 2016 Share Posted February 11, 2016 Hi guys, watching Deutschland 83 & noticed all the softskins seem to have the three colour camo, I thought this didnt come in until the late 80's got pics of Leo 1-2's in the single green from the early/mid 80s? good series though .........takes me back to the days i had hair!!!! The three colour camouflage was only developed in the late 70's to early 80's and first applied in trials during the EX "Trutzige Sachsen" 1985. So they are two years off. http://www.panzerbaer.de/colours/a_relaunch/bw_tarn-a.htm The German language link shows some pictures of the experimental pattern (note that they are hand applied by brush). I still remember seeing vehicles from that time in our battaillon which featured hand painted camo (even with gloss black spots) - needless to say they looked a bit third-worldy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
