Randy Lutz
HI all Here are few images of my Iraqi Sea Fury Mk. 60, which I built in 2011. The single biggest improvement was sanding down the wings to reduce the trench-like panel lines and then re-scribing them to match the fuselage. I performed the following minor enhancements to the kit Cockpit Area - Cooper Details resin cockpit installed to replace kit parts - added drop tank jettison and selection levers Fuselage - Spinner replaced with Cooper Details part - Squadron vacuform windscreen and sliding canopy to replace kit canopy - handholds and footsteps added - rear of fuselage and bottom of rudder modified to represent a de-navalised variant - whip antenna made from surgical wire Wings - gun barrels added - navigation lights replaced with clear sprue - red, green and amber recognition lights made from MV Products lenses - clear covers for recognition lights added - shell ejection ports added - missing bulges added to wings behind undercarriage - kit wheel well and landing gear replaced with Cooper Details parts - inner detail and actuating arms added to inboard gear doors - main undercarriage doors corrected - pitot tube replaced with hypodermic needles Paint and Decals - airframe painted with Xtracolor X2 Dark Earth BS450, X9 Middle Stone and X26 Azure Blue - all markings are from Aero Master 48-712 Sea Fury Part III - aircraft weathered with chalk pastels References - Aircraft Archives, Fighters of World War Two, Volume - Profile Publications No 126, The Hawker Sea Fury - Scale Aircraft Modelling, Volume 11, Number 6 - In Action No. 117, Hawker Sea Fury - Warpaint No. 16 Hawker Sea Fury Cheers Randy

F1Boomer
Went to Reno Air races this year and was allowed into to the coned off zone to get some pictures of a Hawker Sea Fury. Was a great chance to see this beautiful aircraft up close. Your build is awesome and a great subject well done.

Navy Bird
Beautiful craftsmanship, Randy! The airbrush work is superb, and the weathering is just so subtle as to be very realistic. Well done that! I was surprised to see the Iraqi scheme; when I saw you had posted a Sea Fury in the RFI forum I expected to see Dark Grey 1-9 over Light Grey 1-13 in nice Canadian Navy markings! Nice choice, though! Cheers, Bill

Nice choice, though! Cheers, Bill Thanks Bill The Sea Fury was part of a challenge build for the US Nats a few years back (2011). As there were supposed to be many Sea Furies, I wanted mine to be a little different that the rest. Cheers Randy

Randy Lutz
Thanks to all for the compliments on my Sea Fury. They seem to mean a little bit more when they are applied to a less than state-of-the-art kit. Cheers Randy
