P-47D 'Bubbletop' 397th FS "The Jabo Angels"

Recommended Posts

Its finished !

Ive uploaded five pictures to the gallery.

Ive really enjoyed this build, and moreover the logging of it through this forum. Thanks all for your kind thoughts and comments as its progressed.

The final stages were more or less straightforward, although i added vallejo metal medium to the propeller which initially i didn't like and had to tone back using ink washes. The unmasking of the canopy also, thankfully, showed very little bleed.

I finished by spraying Vallejo matte varnish, which didn't go well, even through thinned, through the airbrush, and for the next kit I'm going to look for an alternative.

Edit* I've still got 500b bombs to attach although they still require finishing.

Oh what to build next? .... my stash consists of one, Eduards Bf 110 G4 profipack, which i don't feel confident enough to do justice.

Here's a few pics, although the best are on the gallery page.

I agree that is one really smart and clean looking beast, a really lovely job, well done!!

The paint job and detailing...well the finish on the whole model is excellent, you can be very proud of her.

I am glad you decided to join us and am pleased you enjoyed yourself, this is what GB's are about. I think you should have every confidence in yourself to tackle the Bf-110, I'd love to follow that build! The Patriotic (Eastern Front) GB is coming up...a prefect subject matter for it!
