I want one of this. How good is Modelsvit regarding fit? Do their decals stick to the surface immediately after applying them?

Be advised that the release of our 1/72 Mirage IIIEA/EBR is scheduled for the 2nd half of August 2020.

Glad to share few pics of its sprues. Those of you being familiar with our Mirage IIIE kit shall notice that current molds are new and many small details are optimized.

Dear admin,

Kindly ask you to create separate topic for Mirage IIIEA/EBR due to the fact the this is not a "new boxing" of Mirage IIIE, but entirely new product.

If you compare photos of new sprues shall notice they are not the same.....so we would like to avoid any misunderstanding which could have negative effect on Mirage IIIEA/EBR appearance and related sales results.

Thank you in advance!

This is very interesting to know ! Could you elaborate on the reason for the new sprues ? Is this to better represent these specific subvariants ? Or is it because you have decided to improve the kit overall ?

Sprues may not coincide, the question is how much the details on the sprues differ?

As I understand it, in the new model there are no rivets on the main details, this is different.  But how different wheel bay details, cockpit details, wheel details, e.t.c.?

How differences geometry accurate with wing angle, how differences geometry accurate with nose cone...they wrote about all this in this topic as possible errors of the old model, are they still present in the new one, or are they fixed?  Or were the old nose and wing correct?  Then where are the arguments in defense of the old Mirage from the manufacturer?

Why so critical Serge?

Do you compare all kits you buy to these criteria? I'd say huray for Modelsvit to change the moulds even though it surely didn't look harshly wrong from the first place. Most of the critique was for the rivets anyway...

Because if company talk "entirely new product" after which it turns out that the product contains a lot of details from the previous product, the company's statement may not be entirely correct, at least for me.

Rivets are fine as for me, but there are more essential moments:

And despite the fact that David, who made an excellent conversion, writes about the insignificance of this error, it is, and when compared with the original photo or another model where this error is not, all this will be very clearly visible, that's all.  Therefore, it is fair to ask  is this bug fixed or not in the new model?

I wonder if there will be a 'new tool' boxing of the Mirage IIIE... 🤔

At least, when PJ Production upgraded their Mirage III/5 tooling (getting rid of the trench-like panel lines), they made a revised boxing of all their variants.

Given the story with old and new Mikoyan E-150, old and new Mirage 4000, I think this is more than likely.  But the problem is, what will you have to do with the old one?  Personally, being faced with a dilemma to buy a new exact Mirage IIIE or leave the old inaccurate but beautifully riveted Mirage IIIE, I will leave the old one.

The problem now will be that many modelers will now think very strongly before buying models from this company if the new Mirage IIIE is released, because they will proceed from the following logic:

"What if I buy a new model now, after some time they will find errors and shortcomings like with the E-150, Mirage 4000, Mirage III E the company will release a new corrected one, then what should I do with the old one? I'd rather wait, why should I pay for possible company mistakes from my  pocket?"

And there is a certain correctness in this logic.  Of course, this will not lead to a fatal drop in sales, but there will be some percentage of slowed sales.

Now answering my own question:

Compare

from Facebook

company:

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2735818473353853&id=1854784001457309

117878958_2735817726687261_1153756122420

So, what we see?

New fuselage, new wing, new tail, added wing position light, Matra R530, canard and fixed nose geometry

(with wing degree I don't understand)

mistake. As I understand it's all.

Now everyone can decide for themselves whether this is a 100% new model or a deep upgrade of the old one.

And of course, if these photos were provided immediately, there would be fewer questions.

I recall the old (well, original) IIIE kit nose is not so good but I don't know of any other accuracy problems. Are there any, or do you declare the entire kit inaccurate because of the nose?

The nose is an annoying misunderstanding, about which, however, on a 72nd scale, AML and R.V. Аircraft in

them Mirage IIIC stumbled along with Modelsvit, but it is quite possible to correct the nose yourself.

But the bigger problem (if it exists*) is the problem with the sweep degrees of the wing, which was written about here:

______________

* - yes, I personally not analyzing this problem, but the @mirageiv mentioned it in his magnificent building, the link to which I gave in my posting, given his meticulous attitude to details during the building, I have no reason not to trust him yet.

Thank you Serge for the post.

I am no Mirage expert whatsoever and initially I did not suspect anything wrong with the wing sweep,  but began to suspect something due the the overly extended appearance of the air intake. I still cannot be 100% certain but it is in my opinion only that the wing sweep angle was not quite enough for the first edition, I show my case towards the end of post 25 of my Britmodeller WIP thread here .

The drawings used come from reputedly accurate drawings, I don't believe drawings are gospel truth at all but I assume the wing angle to be correct. The wing angle on the drawings when scaled to 1/48 matched the Heller and Kinetic 1/48 Mirage III kits perfectly, both reportedly to be accurate (especially Heller). Scaling the wing to 1/72 and the Modelsvit kit showed a little lack of sweep. So either the drawings, Heller and Kinetic are wrong, or Modelsvit's initial first Mirage IIIE is. It isn't major at all and I think most wouldn't think twice about it. I mainly model by eye, if it looks good, it is good IMO, but the wing sweep did just seem a little 'off' enough to notice it.

The kit I think is great overall though, can be hardwork in a few places for a NMF but the detail is unreal, on par with my 1/72 Tamiya F-16.

The new kit looks much improved however, especially the new flaps/alierons. I am looking forward to the IIIB!

Cheers,

David

This is what I meant when I talked about the problem with the old model!

Ummm... @Pappy.... Should we petition a certain local retailer to import the odd crate? I know that MetroHobbies stocks this manufacturer, so I can only hope!

Well, be careful what you wish for, as said manufacturer may import a crate but with the addition of  the 'Australia Tax'  (in addition to the GST) on items of local interest. Whilst it may be good to have the plastic in your hands on th seame day, it would probably be cheaper to import them individually, I would be up for 2-3!

Gah! You're right of course.... [grizzle, mumble, grumble...]. Apparently I blinked during the millisecond that Metro Hobbies had the IIIEA/EBR boxing in stock and therefore missed it, but by the catalogue listing I would have paid $55. I could handle two or three of the IIIO for 'close-to-that' price...
