Thanks man Did actually get a little more time to work on him today, bulked out the thighs and started building up the chest. And i left my hand in to give it scale.  20160511_133756 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160511_134020 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160511_134200 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160511_134209 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  Think the chest is looking better already. Will Vale
Coming on nicely now. Will the suit have hard surfaces or is it all fabric of some kind? Will
Hunter Rose
Thanks Will I'm going for hard surface, planning on giving it a dark steel alclad coat. I may do some material shoulder joints under his shoulder pads (and maybe top of the thigh) but other than that its all sealed metal with jointed elbow/knee pads. And while I'm posting just a quick update to show the chest bulked and smoothed, I think it looks much better now, more proportionately correct and just more beefy for armour in general!  20160512_131755 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160512_131808 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  Oh and I've also started bulking out the shoulders as they look a little narrow and slightly tapered at the minute.  20160512_132230 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  Next up I'm going to start working his torso proportions a little more, abs need bulking up like the chest (also too flat I think) and I'm going to thin his waist slightly and continue working the shoulders. So plenty to do ! Thanks for looking, more soon
Hunter Rose
What the hell, lets have an update! Okay so I've been building up the arms and legs more, its starting to take shape, theough i think the right arm proportions have gone a little 'chimpanzee'! I'll correct that next time.  20160518_134552 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160518_134602 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160518_134621 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160518_135127 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160519_134825 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160606_134400 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160606_134408 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160606_134419 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  Next up I'll sort out the right arm, finish the left thigh and start bulking out the lower legs. Thanks for looking, more soon

Brundledonk
Keep this one going Hunter it's looking the business mate, but I fully hear you regarding hours in the day. Time is a rare commodity of late for me too. Really enjoying this as you don't often see work in progress builds showing the stages of sculpting and it's really interesting watching it come together Pete
Hunter Rose
Thank you guys! Don't worry I don't have a wayside From next week when im back at the bench i really want to push on with my Spidey build so i can just get it done and be back to focusing all my time on this. Yorki 1960
Never having done anything like this, how do you stop it from drying out in between builds?
Hunter Rose
The polymer clay wont dry until baked, it will firm up slightly when left for a long time in the open air but not enough to cause any problems.

Hunter Rose
Not yet, trying to power through my spidey 2099 build then I'll be back on it, dont worry its not on the self of doom I've recently got massively into a PS4 game called No Man's Sky, and the classic sci fi feel has made me desperate to get back on this sculpt!
Will Vale
Glad to see I'm not the only who's lost some modelling time to No Man's Sky I find all the backlash really odd as I love the game. Will
Hunter Rose
Good man! Yeah its superb, and im exactly the same, really just dont get it. And as i post this, ive just traded in a haul of emeril and gravatino balls at a trade post on a cool tropical world... and now finally its to bed!! Hunter Rose
Okay good news an update, but bad news its just a little one!  Sat and did a bit of sculpting, as usual i walk away and it doesn't look like I've done much. I've just finished fleshing out the legs and smoothing here and there. I know i started to add armor details for the chest but he looks a little thin so all this is just the undersuit which i will add all my armor to.  20160916_134714 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20160916_134725 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  I've used up nearly my whole pound block of clay so I'll need to order another one before doing more. Artistically i think my direction is going to end up more my own design than the design of the image's suit, but the pose and feel will be the same. Really can't wait to get back on this, spideys gradually coming to an end so not long to wait!  Thanks for looking, more soon
S5 modeller
Glad to see you back on this one hunter. Nowt wrong with going your own way, call it an homage to the original.  Looking forward to the next update.  Matt
Will Vale
He's turning into a real boy! Â I know this is just work-in-progress and you've probably already thought about it, but I reckon you need a bit more definition on the knees - the pivot is right at the front so the bend should be pretty sharp. Possibly the ankles could be thinner as well? Thighs are looking great. Â Cheers, Â Will

I'll sort that when I come to boots, think I'm going to do chest-arms-legs-feet and then hands which will be sculpted in greenstuff directly onto the gun & jet pack controls I'll make. Then It will be time to sort out the helmet and large plunge molded visor *yikes*
Hunter Rose
Okay so I've got more clay now so I've started beefing up his torso. Also have started nailing down a little detail on the arms, im taking inspiration from the ma.k suits and having material joint covers and chunky armor.  20161019_134041 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20161019_134047 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20161021_134340 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20161021_134349 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  20161021_134357 by Nick Frost, on Flickr  Need to thin out his right arm at the top a bit, its looking thicker, and I'll continue working on the overall symmetry here and there (its still early days!) Spideys nearly done so I'll be working on this more, which im glad of, really enjoy this project.  Thanks for looking, more soon
